History

Past Memoir was born from a personal story and a very specific way of understanding fashion. After years of working in design, we felt the need to create our own universe, more intimate and freer. Even our name speaks to that origin: Past comes from Pepa Astolfi and, at the same time, refers to the past; Memoir speaks of memory, of narrative, and of biography. Past Memoir is, in a way, an aesthetic autobiography built through garments, memories, places, and references that are part of our imagination.

Our universe is deeply linked to the countryside, nature, animals, and Spanish traditions. We are inspired by sunrises and sunsets, a beach at low tide, a horseback ride among fighting cattle, antique fabrics, embroidery, lace, and all those materials that acquire beauty with the passage of time. We are interested in recovering a way of doing things calmly, with respect for the fabric, for the shapes, and for the craft. We look back to that era when fashion was a trade, excess, beauty, and character; when more was, quite simply, more, always reinterpreting it through a contemporary lens.

We do not want Past Memoir to respond to a rigid formula. Our universe brings together bridal wear, custom-made pieces, and ready-to-wear in very limited editions, crafted one by one and designed to last. Each design has its own story and can take on very different forms: from a bold dress to a light suit or a simpler piece. The common thread is not in a specific category, but in our way of understanding clothing: unhurried, artisanal, personal, and conceived to be lived in, preserved, and, over time, even inherited.
